| Purchasing a three-wheel broom sweeper? Consider the enduring qualities of the Elgin Pelican. This unique machine is a mechanical, (broom) sweeper and offers legendary performance, maneuverability, economy, reliability and serviceability. Mechanical sweepers remove debris by sweeping it onto a conveyor system which transports the material into a debris hopper.Thousands of Pelicans are sweeping around the globe in a wide variety of applications.
The reason? Only the Pelican is based on a design thats been continually improved since 1914. From the large bubble windows and 360 degree visibility to the powerful hydraulically driven side and main brooms, from the No Jam Conveyor, to the patented sprung guide wheel, ongoing innovation has made the Pelican the worlds most popular three wheel broom sweeper. A standard variable front high dump hopper allows single-lane dumping for minimal traffic interruption and easy off loading into dump trucks or containers. This sweeper is well suited for heavy or light residential and municipal sweeping, as well as pickup of large, heavy debris found at construction sites. |

The Crosswind GE recirculating vacuum sweeper efficiently cleans large flat paved areas like streets, parking lots, and airport runways. It utilizes an airflow system that recirculates the air used to carry debris to the hopper, rather than venting it to the atmosphere, as do pure vacuum sweepers. A minimum of dust is returned to the environment with a recirculating air sweeper and by proper use of the dust suppression system. The Crosswind blower moves air through the sweeper to form a continuous loop. Air is blown down the pressure hose on the left side of the pickup head, creating turbulence and lifting the debris from the street. Air and debris are then pulled to the right side of the pickup head. A vacuum suction hose pulls the debris up and into the hopper where the debris and air are spun around and separated. Debris falls to the hopper floor and the air stream travels into the blower and is forced back down the pressure hose.
The Crosswind GE features a highly efficient recirculating air design and a patented "S" type dust separator. The 90 inch (2286 mm) pickup head, combined with 36 inch (914 mm) side brooms create a wide, 11 feet, 4 inch (3454 mm) sweep path. State of the art electronic controls for all sweep, dump, and spray water controls are located on a centrally mounted rotating terminal. The Crosswind, available on most commercial chassis is ideal for general maintenance sweeping on evenly paved roads, highways, airports and parking lots. |
Sweeping Speed Up to 7 mph (11 km/hr) Sweeping Path Max. 11 ft. 4 in. (3454 mm) Hopper Capacity 7.5 cu. yds. (5.7 m3) Water Capacity 240 gallons (908 L) Dumping Height Max Ground level Dump Location Rear Chassis Conventional or Cab-Over Turning Radius Chassis Dependent Travel Speed 55 mph (88 km/hr) |

The GeoVac, the newest product offering by Elgin Sweeper Company is a pure vacuum street sweeper that efficiently and quietly cleans streets, parking lots, and construction and industrial sites. The vacuum sweep system concentrates suction power in one localized area, the nozzle. Debris is swept into the nozzle path by a side broom and extension broom located underneath the machine, where it is efficiently lifted up by the suction airflow and deposited in the debris body.
The Elgin GeoVac sets new world standards by uniting high performance vacuum sweeping with incredibly low dB(A) in-cab and drive-by noise levels. With its exclusive nozzle design and e-technology noise reduction system, the GeoVac combines high pickup efficiency with low noise emissions, creating the most environmentally-friendly sweeping solution in the world. In addition, its compact design can mount on 3200 mm (126 in) wheelbase chassis for exceptional maneuverability, yet still maintains generous hopper, water and sweep path capacities for extended sweeping time and maximum productivity.
Flexibility has been designed into every unit, providing the customer with his choice of auxiliary engine (John Deere or Perkins) and either Intella-Touch electronic controls or direct touch rocker switch controls, both located in a central rotating terminal. Maintenance is simplified with a convenient service module, accessible with an easy-store ladder and automatic full-width gull wing doors that open with the turn of a key. The Elgin GeoVac Keeping the World Quiet by Setting New Standards in Street Sweeping! |

Looking for a four-wheel vacuum sweeper with innovative design and extraordinary performance? Consider the Elgin Sunvac. This unique sweeper features an elliptical shaped hopper design, aluminum water tanks, and outstanding vacuum power to give you extraordinary performance in both street and highway sweeping. As a pure vacuum sweeper, the Sunvac sweep system concentrates suction power in one localized area, the nozzle. Debris is swept into the nozzle path by a side broom and extension broom located underneath the machine, where it is efficiently lifted up by the suction airflow and deposited in the debris body.
The Sunvacs module design allows maximum flexibility in hopper and water capacities. Large 34 inch (864 mm) side brooms and a reversible main broom creates a full 8 ft. 8 in. (2642 mm) sweeping path. Simple to operate and simple to maintain, the Sunvac sweeper is popular with municipalities and contractors alike. This sweeper is also well known for its versatility as a catch basin cleaner. This unique product was specifically developed to remove glycol runoff on airport runways and gate locations before this potentially hazardous chemical infiltrates the surrounding waterways. The GRVs high air flow, wide sweep path, superior vacuum performance and efficient separation of glycol and ice result in fast, clean glycol pick-up.
The GRV features a full 8 foot (2400 mm) pickup head and a 200 gallon (757 l) tank containing emulsifying solution. The emulsifier is sprayed onto the affected pavement through a front spray bar, breaking up the cohesion between the glycol and the pavement for more complete pickup. A large blower creates incredible suction across the pickup head, which lifts the glycol, ice and water mixture off the pavement and into an 1800 gallon (6800 l) storage tank, until it can be transported and conveniently discharged into a receptacle or holding tank.
Equipped to operate at temperatures up to 40 degrees F (-40 degrees C), the GRV is at home even in the most severe winter conditions. The GRVs unmatched performance helps airports comply with the toughest standards for controlling glycol run-off mandated anywhere in the world. |

Airports require sweepers that achieve top performance on and off the runway. To address these needs, Elgin Sweeper introduced the FSX "Fast Sweeping Crosswind". This dual purpose sweeper maintains optimum high-speed runway pickup as well as superior pick-up at slower speeds necessary for aprons and ancillary roads. The FSX sweeps at 15 mph (24 kph) on runways and at slower speeds on tarmac and ancillary roads without the time consuming process of changing the pickup head.
Similar to the Elgin Crosswind GE, the FSX blower moves air through the sweeper to form a continuous loop. Air is blown down the pressure hose on the left side of the pickup head, creating an air knife effect that lifts the debris from the runway and tarmac area. Air and debris are then pulled to the right side of the pickup head. A vacuum suction hose picks up the debris and sends it to the hopper where it is spun around separating the debris from the airflow. Debris falls to the hopper floor and the air stream travels into the blower and is forced back down the pressure hose.
The FSX features a turbo charged auxiliary engine and a unique pickup head and impeller capable of incredible suction power at higher speeds. Options include heavy duty caster wheels for the pickup head and a powerful lateral side air blast (single or dual) which directs a concentrated, high velocity air stream through an opening to clear away debris from protruding lights and other obstacles where side brooms cant reach. |
